2017-18 Webinar Workshops :

Welcome to 88 Creative Key’s

Laser-focused  2017-18 Webinar Workshops

What’s a webinar workshop? Think of it as a paid professional development conference session with highly skilled presenters, slides, and handouts that you can enjoy at home.

This year’s Laser theme is all about illuminating practical details to make your teaching shine!

Chords at Work – $49

September 25, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (Eastern)

Description: First, we’ll share teaching strategies and exercises to help you move students from merely constructing chords to being able to recognize and play any chord progression. Then, you’ll learn contemporary piano accompaniment patterns (not just Alberti and jump bass) you can use to improvise duet parts with your students or reinvigorate your own creative music making.

Why it matters: The ability to recognize and play chords without hesitation enables all sorts of creative skills such as learning tunes by ear, playing lead sheets, jamming with others, and creating one’s own part in bands. Even for those who prefer to play exclusively written music, “chord fluency” improves learning literature through harmonic analysis, enhances sight reading by predicting what will come next, and facilitates memorization by internalizing underlying progressions.

Presenters: Leila Viss and Bradley Sowash
Date/Time: September 25, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (Eastern)

Replay: Can’t make that time? Watch a replay video as often as you like that won’t expire until 30 days after the webinar! Note that replays are only available to registrants and cannot be purchased after a webinar workshop so if you snooze, you lose.
Resources: Detailed handouts and resources you can save and print will be shared with you during the webinar.
